The average price per square-foot for a home in America is $123. How does Dallas compare? Keep reading to find out.
The study used a home price of $305,000, which is the nationwide median listing price to determine how many square feet you could theoretically buy in each city.
Dallas ended up right in the middle, with an average price per square-foot of $215, which would buy a 1419 square-foot house.
Of course, many factors play a part in how much house you can buy. A newer build near SMU is going to cost more per square-foot than an older home on the outskirts of Dallas. And looking outside the city of Dallas can get you even more bang for your buck. The median list price per square-foot in McKinney is $147, and in Fort Worth, it's only $129. Head a little further out to Forney, and the price drops even more, to $121.
